Lunch or dinner? About meal structure in Poland
Typical Polish schedulle of the meals:
1. breakfast
morning meal, rather small
2. dinner
the bigest meal during a day, typically server about beetween 2 or 4 o clock PM
3. supper
small meal in the evenig.
Can you see the hudge difference between Polish dinner in the midle of the day, and English dinnner in late afternoon? It is different order of meals, so interpretesr have problem with translate here.
The other possible schedule, very typical in Poland
1. breakfast
2. "second braekfast" - small snack about 11-12 o'clock. Ussually a sandwich.
3. (Polish) dinner - the bigest meal typicaly about 3 o'clock
4. "podwieczorek" - small snack, sometning like English 5 o'clock tea. Typically a piece of cake, or a fruit.
5. supper.
Poland is relatively cold country, with spring-summer-autumn-winter weather, we eat often :).
It is funny like difrent countys have diffrent foood custom, even so basic like scheedule of meals.
Typical English meals during a day:
1.breakfast
meal in the morning, rather small one
2. lunch
meal in the midle of the day, rather small
3. dinner
the bigest meal in late afternoon or early evening.
4. supper
late in evening, small meal, optional
Now you can see the difference. Poor interpreters....
